M. N. Hegde, PhD

M. N. (Giri) Hegde is professor emeritus of communicative sciences and disorders at California State University, Fresno. He holds a master's degree in experimental psychology from the University of Mysore, India, and a post-master's diploma in medical psychology from Bangalore University, India. His doctoral degree in speech-language pathology is from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale.

Dr. Hegde is a specialist in research methods, fluency disorders, language, and treatment procedures in communicative disorders. He has made many professional and scientific presentations to national and international audiences on a wide variety of topics in communicative disorders. He has published many research articles in national and international journals and over 25 critically acclaimed books on a wide range of subjects in speech-language pathology. He has edited nearly 30 books in speech-language pathology.

He serves on the editorial board of several national and international journals, including the Journal of Speech, Language, and Hearing Research; Journal of Fluency Disorders; and Journal of Speech-Language Pathology and Applied Behavior Analysis. He has received numerous local, state, and national professional accolades and honors, including the ASHA Fellow Award and the Outstanding Professor Award from California State University-Fresno.
